S/Y APRILIA
Mahogany Lady
Aprilia is a beautiful ocean-going ketch designed by the brilliant Swedish naval architect Arvid Laurin and built in 1963 as a one-off. She’s a long-keel yacht measuring 56ft (17 metres) in length. She features a 38mm thick mahogany hull planking and teak deck. Her well-organised accommodation comprises: a large cockpit, comfortable galley with cooker and fridge, four cabins, ten berths, and a head with shower.
The Italians call Aprilia “Antico Classico”, delighting in this elegant boat when she visits their harbours. You can’t argue with them – the yacht truly stands out for her beauty and class among classic vessels in every marina.

ARCHITECT / SHIPWRIGHT / OLYMPIAN
Who was Arvid Laurin?
Even during his lifetime, Arvid Laurin was called by many “the Swedish genius”. His contribution to sailing was a force to be reckoned with to this day, as evidenced by his enormous body of work filled with brilliant designs. Laurin designed magnificent boats for notable figures, often produced as one-offs only. It was precisely for such a special commission from Swedish Major O. Berger and his family that he created our Aprilia.
